Vang chair by Engesvik

I´m going to start doing some post about my objects of desire, if you don´t mind? I promise this won´t turn into a shopping blog though. As we finally starts to see the end of our new house-project (still 5 months to go...) I´ve started thinking aboutwhat we´ll need when we move in. We sort of sold everything we had when we moved to the 40 kvm rental we´ve lived in for nearly two years now...

I´m still not sure what chairs to get for our kitchen, started out wanting the Y-chairs, but they seem to be everywhere now, so why don´t go for something a little bit more fresh and original? Well, this chair might be everywhere too, but at least it´s Norwegian, and made by someone who´s still alive: Andreas Engesvik and his wooden chair Vang. Love it, don´t you?

It is produced by the traditional handicraft factory Tonning, which since 1946 has been located in Stryn, amongst fjords and mountains west in Norway. The Vang chair was launched at the new norwegian exhibition during London Design Festival, September 2012. Design: Andreas Engesvik, Oslo Manufacturer: Tonning Møbler

  1. I agree with going for something fresh and original. The chairs pictured are gorgeous, simple but stunning design. We are about to embark on a house project of our own. Can't wait until I am at the stage of adding some new pieces. Love your blog!
