Photo: scandinavianretreat This summer turns out to be the best weather wise in my part of Norway for years. So I spend a lot of time at the beach and not much time blogging - but follow me on instagram, where I try to give you daily updates. My instaname is scandinavianretreat. In the first pic you see my new friend, a tan leather bag by fab Norwegian brand Schermann Ringdal, you get it here See you on instagram!
As you might have noticed I´m on summer holiday, and not the best blogger these days. That´s why you should follow me on instagram, where I try to share my Norwegian summer with you. My name there is scandinavianretreat
Some photos from the last months, where we´ve spent three weekends at the cabin. One preparing for the photographer (in rain) and two in nothing but sun! Wanted to show you the cushions, still a work in progress, but I´m making them in grey sheepskin. To tell you the truth my mum is making them, thats ´s my best DIY-tip: ask your mum. (In the third photo you´ll see my daughter pressing her nose against the window, wanting to get back in... .)
Just spent the weekend at the cabin, and finally - some sunny days! This post is just to show you how much I love life at the cabin, when we can spend almost the entire day outdoors. I usually take my pics when we are about to leave for home and it´s all tidy and neat, but in real life it´s always people and toys and stuff everywhere. Here you at least get a small glims of that in some of the photos.
A sneak peak from the photoshoot at the cabin by Elisabeth Aarhus. The pics will be published in Norwegian Elle Decoration. So cool to see shots of the cabin done by a good photographer! Hope I´ll be able to share some more photos with you later.

A few more pics from our bedroom, clean and ready for the photographer. I´m so glad I´m not doing the final styling before the shoot, it´s so hard to decide where to put stuff. (And to keep it tidy, with a busy 3 year old running around).
Just spent a rainy weekend at the cabin, after a few rainy days in Bergen. I love living in Norway, but please: Give us some sun soooon. But hey, we finally finished and painted our new bench by the table! We actually made it last year, but gave up after descovering we made it 10 cm to short, and had to do it all over again. My mum is helping me making pillows-to-sit-on (what do you call it in english) cushions (thanks, Greta!) as we speak.
Photo: Scandinavian Retreat As I mentioned we´ll have a photoshoot at the cabin next week. Haven´t decided what to put on the walls just yet, here a few alternatives. A photo by talented Norwegian artist Anja Niemi or one of my lovely framed posters?
