Picture bonanza from our cabin

Photo: Scandinavian Retreat

I´m sorry I haven´t been blogging for a while, we have spent a few easter-holiday-days relaxing (and working) in our summer cabin, as my big belly makes it hard to go skiing anyway. We still have to wait a while for running water inside and a working bathroom, and there is still some work to do, but see the before pictures here (I´ve just added a few more) - we´ve come a long way in less than a year.

Can´t wait to spend the summer in our cabin!

  8. wow for en forandring. Elsket kjøkkenet deres. Er det "hjemmelaget" av gamle planker? Utrolig fint hverfall.
Lykke til med svangerskapet. Har hørt at man skal nyte den tiden like mye som tiden etter :)

Your cabin looks stunning something out of a HEM o HUS magazine (Homes and Gardens) We say in England lol! I loovee the mustard yellow dresser will you paint it? I think the earthy colour fits so well it's nice to have a splash of colour dotted amongst the white neutral tones.

  25. Pippi, I love your blog and your cabin. You are like my long distance soul sister in design!Your cabin makes me feel so happy and peaceful when I look at it.I am renovating our home in all painted white pine boards and beadboard, with a pale grey painted floor.Everyone where I live(in New Hampshire,U.S) is in shock. Most people here have have clear pine and moose heads on the wall.I am so happy for you about your new baby. You will have a warm home, with lots of happy family memories.
    Blessings,Carolyn

  42. Thanks so much for all your nice comments! :) Takk, takk, takk!

A few answers to some of your questions:

Små & Store Drømmer og Tessi: Kjøkkenet er laget av gamle planker vi fant utenfor Maxbo og IKEA-stammer :) Billig og ganske fint?

Nina: Det gråblå store teppet er nytt fra Home & Cottage, den lange stråmatta og den lille dørmatta er fra R.O.O.M (fra min gamle leilighet, så er en 3-4 år siden jeg kjøpte det)

swedishouse: I´m not sure yet if we´ll paint the cabinet, cause I like the colour - but it´s very old and rugged, so it needs a bit of renovation. We´ll decide this summer , promise to post pictures!

    :)

  43. Hi Pippi,

A belayed 'wow' from Amsterdam (blame the Toronto trip :-) )! Your summer home looks absolutely amazing, you guys have put so much work and effort into this, and wow! It's stunning.

Hope you'll enjoy your last weeks (days?) before the baby comes and don't need to do too much any more... for sure your baby will have a great place to spend its summers and holidays. Take care!!

    Love from Amsterdam,

  47. OMG, this cabin is so beautiful! I love every corner, and you've made such a nice job there! I have a thing for scandinavia (I think I might have been Norwegian or Swedish in my former life :p) and all the wood and furniture you've chosen is delightful! My favorite thing: the huge squared window on the master bedroom! Have a lovely time there and I wish you lots of happiness in these days to come!!
